Frequently Asked Questions

You can book a car online, providing all necessary information, or contact our customer service team. They will assist you in selecting the vehicle, arranging the rental dates, and providing any other necessary information. Please note – car rental reservation is only the 1st step of the car rental process. The 2nd step is provide necessary documents with the security deposit paid (credit card pre-authorization in-person or wire prepayment to bank account), when you will visit our rental location office.

You will receive a booking confirmation email from us. With this you will know that your booking is confirmed.

Yes. The cancellation should be made online or in written form via e-mail to info@r4rental.com

A booking can be cancelled free of charge 48 hours before the start of the rental period. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be refunded, minus administration fee.
• If the booking is cancelled in less than 48 hours of the rental start time, the cancellation charge will be the amount of the rental charge (including any extras and charges) for 1 rental day and the administration fee.
• If the booking was not cancelled and customer didn’t show up (no-show), the cancellation charge will be the full amount paid (including any extras and charges).
• Administration fee – in case of booking cancellation, we have the right to charge up to 50 EUR to cover our administration and banking costs. If the client has paid in advance for the booking, the administration fee would be deducted from the amount to be refunded.

We assume you already made a car rental booking and you received a confirmation email from us. Customer must fulfill all the general terms and conditions:

– driver has at least 3 year driving experience with valid B category driving license;

– valid passport or ID card;

– security deposit is prepaid with wire payment to our bank account or credit card pre-authorization in-person (on pickup). In case of pre-authorization the deposit is just blocked. When you return the car after the rental, the deposit amount will be unblocked;

– signed rental contract. You can also sign the documents remotely (online), without any hurry.

The security deposit is not the same sum you pay for the booking. We take the security deposit from 500 EUR to 2200 EUR (depending on the risk  – driver experience, selected Insurance package, recurring customer or new, vehicle type).  We inform customer about the amount we will require for the security deposit paid shortly after the booking. The security deposit can be paid with wire transfer to our bank account or by credit card pre-authorization in-person (on pickup). The security deposit is a collateral to cover costs and issues related to rented vehicle – vehicle was returned with/or without damages, cleanness of the vehicle, fuel tank full/or not, vehicle was returned on time/or not, etc. – more information, please check Rental Terms page). If there will be no cost related issues with your rented vehicle, we will return your security deposit in full during 2 weeks after the vehicle was returned.

Basic Insurance Package

The Basic Insurance Package includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) with the excess.

→ Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) that covers collision damage, subject to an excess fee. This package covers most types of traffic accident-related damage and includes mandatory Civil Liability Insurance (CLI), which is required for participation in road traffic.

Covered:

• Collision damage;
• Scratches and dents;
• Damage to body panels, doors, and roof;
• General accident damage.

Not covered:

• Tyres and Windscreen Protection (TWP);
• Underbody damage;
• Clutch damage;
• Misfuelling / wrong fuel;
• Lost keys;
• Interior damage;
• Damage caused by driver negligence;
• Off-road driving;
• Failure to comply with the rental agreement terms and conditions;
• Roadside assistance in the event of a traffic accident or vehicle mechanical failure.

→ Theft Protection (TP)

Theft Protection (TP) limits your liability if the rental car is stolen or vandalized. This protection is subject to an excess fee.

Covered:

• Vehicle theft;
• Attempted theft;
• Vandalism after theft or attempted theft.

Not covered:

• Stolen personal belongings;
• Cases where the keys are left in the car;
• Damage or loss caused by negligence.

What is excess?

Excess (deductible) is the amount you still have to pay if the car is damaged or stolen. Example:

• Damage amount: €3,000
• Your excess: €2,200
• Rental company pays: €800
• You pay: €2,200


Medium Insurance Package

The Medium Insurance Package includes the Basic Insurance Package with reduced excess (CDW+). This package significantly reduces the excess amount that you would have to pay in case of damage or an accident.

Not included:

• Tyres and Windscreen Protection (TWP);
• Roadside assistance.


Full Insurance Package

The Full Insurance Package is the recommended option, as it provides the widest level of protection. Includes:

→ Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW). Basic Insurance Package with zero excess.
 Tyres and Windscreen Protection (TWP). Tyre and windscreen protection with zero excess.
→ Roadside assistance. In the event of a traffic accident or vehicle mechanical failure.



Tyres and Windscreen Protection (TWP)

TWP can be added to the Basic or Medium Insurance Package. The Full Insurance Package includes TWP protection by default.

TWP protection releases the driver from traffic accident-related liability in the event of damage to tyres or the windscreen, with zero excess.

Covered:

• Punctures;
• Tyre replacement;
• Cracked windscreen;
• Chipped glass;
• Wheel or rim damage.



Important information

The selected protection package does not constitute full insurance coverage and does not release the Lessee from their obligations under the rental agreement.

The limitation of liability or excess shall not apply, and the Lessee shall bear full responsibility in cases including, but not limited to:

• Breach of the rental agreement;
• Gross negligence or misuse of the vehicle;
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances;
• Unauthorized drivers;
• Unauthorized border crossing;
• Failure to report an accident, theft, or damage to the police;
• Failure to provide police documentation or alcohol test results;
• Inability to return vehicle keys or documents in case of theft;
• Damage caused to the vehicle interior, underbody, engine, gearbox, clutch, or other mechanical systems;
• Tyre or windscreen damage unless separate protection has been purchased;
• Use of the vehicle outside public roads, in high-risk areas, or in war zones.

When should an accident or damage be reported?

If the car is damaged or in accident, you need to notify our customer service team (Lessor) not later than within 24 hours.
In the event of an accident, vehicle damage, theft, engine breakdown or other similar circumstances the Lessee is required to:
• Ensure the prevention of further damage to the rented vehicle until the takeover by the lessor;
• Record the names and addresses of witnesses and participants;
• Call the police and procure a record of the events, except in the case of motor breakdown;
• Inform the nearest office of the lessor of the events.
• The user of the vehicle is obliged to report any damage done to the vehicle to the police.

Important to know! In the case of accident where the Lessee does not procure a police report, all the Insurance coverage are considered invalid due to the Lessee’s failure to comply with the provisions of the rental agreement and general terms and conditions.

Important to know! In the case of accident where the Lessee does not procure a police report, all the Insurance coverage are considered invalid due to the Lessee’s failure to comply with the provisions of the rental agreement and general terms and conditions.

Fuel is not included in our quoted rates.

All vehicles are delivered with fuel in the tank and should be returned with the same amount of fuel.

If the vehicle is not returned with the same amount of fuel as it was collected with, a Fuel service fee will be applied (usually 30 EUR, depending on the rental station), plus the cost of the missing fuel will apply.

It depends “how late?” and “have you informed us about the delay at least 4 hours before the vehicle pickup deadline?”. Our rental station standard working hours are from 09:00 am to 18:00 pm.

We will try to help you. You must try to pickup the vehicle within our working hours and inform us about the delay. The additional fee can be applied if you will come outside our standard working hours.

Without informing us about the delay, your booking can be cancelled with status “no-show”.

It depends “how late?” and “have you informed us about the delay at least 4 hours before the vehicle return deadline?”. Our rental station standard working hours are from 09:00 am to 18:00 pm.

If your vehicle return delay is only 1 hour or less and you return the vehicle within our standard working hours, and you have prior informed our office about he delay, we will not charge you (one-hour grace period will be applied). If the vehicle is returned outside the grace period, there will be a charge of an additional day and 80 EUR fee can be applied.

It depends on the availability of the vehicle for the extra days you need.

We will try to help you, but you need to inform our rental office in written form as soon as possible. If the exact vehicle will be available for the rental, we will extend your rental contract.
